Weight is an important factor when packing a Bug-Out bag. A person on average can only carry up to 20% of their body weight so a 200 lb person could carry up to 40 lbs. However, a person in fairly good shape could carry more and with practice, could carry over 35% of their body weight or 70 lbs for a 200 lb person.
My pack has a total weight of 26.5 lbs. 2 emergency food bars and both water containers full (almost 1 gallon).
