Weight is an important factor when packing an INCH bag. A person on average can only carry up to 20% of their body weight so a 200 lb person could carry up to 40 lbs. However, a person in fairly good shape could carry more and with practice, could carry over 35% of their body weight or 70 lbs for a 200 lb person.
My pack has a base weight of 35 lbs. Four packs of freeze-dried food and both water containers full will add 6.5 lbs. for a total weight of 41.5 lbs.
